Self-Hosted Nextcloud Workspace Assistant
The Nextcloud productivity skill lets Hermes work with files, notes, calendars, tasks, and contacts in your own Nextcloud instance through WebDAV, the Notes API, CalDAV, and CardDAV.
Requirements
- The
hermes-nextcloudproductivity skill is required. - Python 3.8 or newer is required.
- A reachable Nextcloud instance is required.
- A Nextcloud app password is required.
- The Notes and Tasks apps are required when those operations are needed.
How to use
Hermes can invoke these operations from its normal conversation surfaces while the data remains in your Nextcloud instance.
The setup stores the app password in a mode-0600 file. Use an app password rather than the account's main password so access can be revoked independently.
Read-only requests are a safer starting point. Confirm targets before deleting or moving remote files, contacts, or events.
Calendar timestamps use the configured timezone and otherwise default to UTC.
In the Setup section, first create a revocable Nextcloud app password, then install and configure the skill by cloning it into ~/.hermes/skills/productivity and running the setup script:
Create a revocable Nextcloud app password, then install and configure the skill:
cd ~/.hermes/skills/productivity
git clone https://github.com/adnw-vinc/hermes-nextcloud.git nextcloud
python3 ~/.hermes/skills/productivity/nextcloud/scripts/setup.py
The setup writes validated credentials to ~/.hermes/nextcloud.env. Verify the connection with the documented CLI wrapper:
NC="python3 ~/.hermes/skills/productivity/nextcloud/scripts/nextcloud_api.py"
$NC check
In the Prompts section, use conversation requests that map directly to the skill's documented operations:

List the files in my Nextcloud project folder and summarize the newest notes.
Show my Nextcloud calendar events and tasks for this week. Do not change anything.

Apple Notes CLI
Manage Apple Notes directly from the terminal with the memo CLI: create, view, edit, delete, search, move notes between folders, and export notes to HTML or Markdown.
Automate the macOS UI with the Peekaboo CLI
Use Peekaboo to inspect the macOS UI, act on the intended target, and verify the result. The examples use v4 syntax; check the current documentation and the installed command's help, and for older versions follow that version's help.
Dynamic Skill Dojo
Hermes Dojo monitors agent sessions, identifies weak skills and missing workflows, runs targeted fixes, and reports whether the agent is improving over time, closing the loop between observability and self-evolution.
