Microsoft Teams Meeting to Action Pipeline

The official Teams meeting pipeline turns Microsoft Graph webhook events for online meetings into durable Hermes jobs, producing a structured summary delivered to Microsoft Teams, Notion, or Linear.

Requirements

  • The built-in teams_pipeline plugin and the Microsoft Graph webhook platform.
  • Microsoft Graph application credentials and the required meeting permissions.
  • A public HTTPS webhook endpoint.
  • ffmpeg when the recording-to-speech-to-text fallback is enabled.
  • At least one configured sink: Teams, Notion, or Linear.

How to use

This is an event-driven pipeline with validation and day-two maintenance commands, not a chat-only summarizer.

Microsoft Graph meeting subscriptions expire after 72 hours and do not renew themselves. Schedule maintain-subscriptions before production use.

If the listener binds beyond loopback, restrict accepted source CIDRs to Microsoft's webhook egress ranges.

Prefer transcripts to recordings: they are faster and avoid unnecessary media processing.

Choose one setup route:

Run hermes gateway setup and choose Teams Meetings, or enable the plugin and add Microsoft Graph credentials to ~/.hermes/.env.

hermes plugins enable teams_pipeline

MSGRAPH_TENANT_ID=<tenant-id>
MSGRAPH_CLIENT_ID=<client-id>
MSGRAPH_CLIENT_SECRET=<client-secret>
MSGRAPH_WEBHOOK_ENABLED=true
MSGRAPH_WEBHOOK_PORT=8646
MSGRAPH_WEBHOOK_CLIENT_STATE=<random-shared-secret>
MSGRAPH_WEBHOOK_ACCEPTED_RESOURCES=communications/onlineMeetings

Configure Teams delivery and transcript fallback in ~/.hermes/config.yaml, expose /msgraph/webhook over HTTPS, then start and validate.

hermes gateway run
hermes teams-pipeline validate
hermes teams-pipeline token-health
hermes teams-pipeline subscriptions

Subscribe to the transcript resource using the source-documented CLI flow.

hermes teams-pipeline subscribe \
  --resource communications/onlineMeetings/getAllTranscripts \
  --notification-url "$PUBLIC_MS_GRAPH_WEBHOOK_URL" \
  --client-state "$MSGRAPH_WEBHOOK_CLIENT_STATE"

Set PUBLIC_MS_GRAPH_WEBHOOK_URL to the public HTTPS URL ending in /msgraph/webhook.

Microsoft Graph webhook events trigger jobs; no user prompt is required.

Use the supplied commands to inspect and maintain the event-driven pipeline.

hermes teams-pipeline list
hermes teams-pipeline validate
